Gabriel Valles
A Human Rights activist and founding member of the International NGO “Operación Libertad.” He denounced the regime for the constant violations of human rights. He was a victim of arbitrary attacks by the Venezuelan regime authorities, and was illegally arrested and charged the day before the 2010 parliamentary elections. He was accused of “intimidation of public order, public uncertainty and false information disclosure.” In 2014, he was deported from Colombia and handed over to officials of the Bolivarian Intelligence Service (SEBIN). Valles was held at La Tumba (The Tomb) and El Helicoide, and was victim of psychological torture for years. He was released on June 2, 2018 and currently lives in Colombia, where he manages an extensive program that helps relieve the needs of migrants who cross the Colombia-Venezuela border.
